Time for Change

It has been four days now without a cigarette and I'm doing fine. I haven't had any real urges to enjoy the drag of one yet! My hubby quit two weeks ago with the help of Chantix. I chose to do it cold turkey. I hope that with the new year I can bring health to the top of my "to do" list. Quit smoking and lose 50 pounds. One thing at a time and one day at a time. Keep me in your prayers, I need the support.

Funny how life changes our goals....

With my hubby being unemployed since December I needed a new, better paying job. I applied for a nursing home RN position, just willing to work the floor to make more money. A friend of mine is the Director of Nurses and she refused to hire me in this position stating she thought I could offer more. A week later I was offered the position of Director of Home Health for the same company. They didn't care that I didn't have the experience of Director or very much home health experience. They felt I fit the job. I accepted, nervously! I'm now in my second week of this position and I think it's a good job. It challenges me and I love that. I left all of this in God's hands and told him that I trusted his decision. Now I have to trust that I can do this. I am in charge of three RN's and six home health aides. We have 62 clients and hope to increase that number. Ten years ago I never thought I'd be this far in life and who knows where I'll be in another ten years! It shows that if we leave our fears and worries with God he'll take care of us.

Health Occupations Students of America

Britni, my oldest daughter just had the experience of participating in the state HOSA contest in Des Moines with her college class. She placed 6th in the state for medical math. I'm so proud of her. She works so hard at everything she does and it shows. She's going to go far in life.

Everyone had a good time. I'm so glad that we can finally all be together and enjoy the holidays. I think it's really important for the kids to be able to share these memories.

WM Jewelry Designs

Just posting some pictures of my hobby/business. I've been creating jewelry since April and love making new pieces whenever I get the chance. Currently I'm working on a piece I'm calling Princess. The necklace and earring set will be donated to a project called "Princess for The Day". A lucky lady will be chosen to have a makeover, keep my jewelry and get her pictures taken professionally and our local papers and radio will announce the winner and put her picture in the paper. I'm really excited about being a part of this project.
